A Tasty Treat

icecream3

What’s better than having a delicious serving of ice cream on a hot summer day? I honestly can’t think of much. So when you combine an ice cream station with your summer wedding celebration you can have the best of both worlds!

You can create this tasty experience for your guests by allowing self-serve or hiring a server. In my opinion, hiring a company like Amy’s Ice Cream or Sugar Shaack is the best route because you’re provided with a server, ice cream, and toppings.

For a self-serve ice cream station be sure to include all of the elements needed for your guests’ ice cream creations. Beware, the table may begin to get messy especially if children are involved so it would be wise to have someone supervise every so often to keep everything clean and in order.

Customized Beer

beer2

For the bride who likes to go the extra mile, consider customizing the beer that will be served at your wedding. You can add an even more personal touch to your wedding by having custom beer labels!

If you’re really wanting to pull out all the stops, you can concoct your own brew at home then create personalized labels to place on your bottles. There are online companies that give you templates and then you finish it off with your chosen words or picture. Two websites that I think have a wide selection of attractive designs are My Own Labels and Labels on the Fly.

There are also companies like Gift Specialists where you can buy the labels as well as the beer. This will allow you to still provide custom beer to your guests without the hassle of making homemade beer.

This idea can also be applied to those of you who will have guests who are wine, champagne, or just soda drinkers!

Cupcake Fun!!!

cupcake

I kind of have another obsession and it is cupcakes!!! I love eating them, I love seeing them decorated, I love the different things you can do with them and the different ways you can display them!!! What is there not to love about these adorable little things??? One thing that I absolutely love to see at weddings is when the bride/ wedding coordinator find fun ways to display cupcakes such as old vintage colored plates, or funky cupcake stands! No matter if you choose to go the traditional wedding cake route or something else it never hurts to add a fun display of cupcakes to just kick up your reception a notch!!!!

Family Style Wedding Feasts….

family style dinner

I have a bride that is currently doing something for their dinner that I LOVE. Fall reminds me of a crisp breeze through the air, families getting together for the holidays, plenty of holiday dinners, and what better way to incorporate this comfy/coziness then to serve your guests family style at your wedding. There are now more and more caters that offer the option of doing a family style dinner where they bring a mix of foods and put them on the table and guests can pass these foods around and take what they want. It is a great way to have the “buffet style” where your guests are able to choose what they want to eat but it also has the “sit down” feel. Keep the feel of fall and family fun in your wedding theme and serve family style, I guarantee your guests will think it is fun! Happy Planning!!!

Fun Favors: Candy Bar

Wedding-Candy-Bar

Most people love candy and I happen to be one of those people! A really cool idea for favors to give to your guest is to set up a candy bar and let them fill small boxes full of candy to take home. In my days as a wedding planner I have seen so many brides spend a whole lot of money on favors and most guests do not even end up taking the favor home. When favors are left what happens is the bride first off has lost money and second has to find something to do with the leftovers. A cool way to save is to have a candy bar. I have found that you can find all kinds of funky see through vases at different thrift stores, or yard sales, or even in your own house already! When you fill these different vases full of candy they look very cool and also brings a touch of fun to your wedding! Make sure you also get small scoops so people are not sticking their dirty hands into all the candy. :) You can order small boxes offline or even get them in party stores. To personalize them you can get the boxes printed on with your names or get labels to stick on the boxes so your guests can remember it is from your wedding they got all the fun candy! Also, a fun way to tie it into your wedding theme is to have all the candy match the colors of your wedding. Try something new as a favor and have fun doing it! P.S. make sure you have someone manning this station you do not want to have candy all over the place or run out to fast. Happy Planning!!!
